Gas Fire Suppression Systems

Sapphire Installations

The gas extinguishing system “Sapphire” by Ansul uses the extinguishing agent Novec 1230. This product has an extraordinary power of extinction, slightly affects the environment and has many applications due to its flexibility and safety margin. The extinguishing agent causes a reaction in the refrigerating process of combustion such that the series of chemical reactions specific to the fire is interrupted. The fire will quickly weaken and die.

Applications

Our systems are suitable for all devices in data or computer rooms. These clean agent systems apply in particular to:

  • Premises that are equipped with electronic technology and/or are periodically unattended
  • Archives or products of high commercial value
  • Machinery rooms
  • Inaccessible locations with manual means of extinction

Advantages

  • Rapid reaction due to a sensitive detection system
  • 24/7 surveillance
  • Use of relatively low pressure systems
  • Once fire has been extinguished you just need to clean up
  • Flexible installations

Eliminated Risks

  • Data loss
  • Financial loss
  • Loss of expensive equipment
  • Business interruption
  • Employee safety
  • Bad public relations

Inergas Installations

Ansul’s Inergas system works with inert gases. This system allows a much faster activation by an earlier detection compared with a CO2 system that requires a real flame to ignite or to detect the fire. Inergas our Inergen extinguish the fire by lowering the oxygen content below 17%. Unlike an atmosphere filled with extinguishing gas CO2, inergas does not require the evacuation of staff before use of the systems.

Applications

  • Computer/data rooms
  • Premises equipped with electronic technology and/ or periodically unattended
  • Machinery space
  • Archives or facilities of high value
  • Inaccessible locations with a portable fire extinguisher
  • Larger spaces, given its relatively low price

Advantages

  • Rapid reaction due to a sensitive detection system
  • 24/7 surveillance
  • After extinction you just need to clean
  • Flexible installations

CO2 Installations

CO2 extinguishing systems uses carbon dioxide in a gaseous form. The gas is stored in liquid bottles. During the extinction the gas forms a mist of higher density than that of the air. The fire is extinguished by reducing the levels of oxygen for some time, the materials that are present will no longer be able to burn or ignite again. Even in low concentration, the CO2 is dangerous for humans and animals. It is important to take into account and never activate the system when there is a human presence.

Applications

The CO2 extinguishing system is used to protect:

  • Hazardous material
  • Archives
  • Areas with sensitive equipment
  • Oil pools and chemicals

Advantages

  • Excellent thermal stability
  • Moderate cost of extinguishing agent
  • The only gas that allows local extinction
  • Better extinctions than with other forms of gas
